Less than two weeks to go to the Dr. Evil Classic – training quite a bit (did 72 kms yesterday), but looking at the profile maps and the route descriptions I get a bit nervous…

What’s the Dr. Evil? It is a three day, three stage mountain bike race in South Africa with a total distance of 260 km and close to 4800 meters climbing. Day three is identical to the famous 95 km Karoo to Coast race from the Karoo town of Uniondale to Knysna, the seaside town on the Indian Ocean where our family home is.  I’ve done that twice already and it is my absolute favorite – a spectacular route and the best vibes I’ve ever experienced on a race!
